Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi, a pillar in the country’s logistics and
transportation industries, started his career in government in early 2001 when he
was appointed by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the General Manager
of the Philippine Ports Authority.
He then moved on to become the General Manager of the Manila International
Airport Authority, and then as Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority of
the Philippines (CAAP) until December 2010.
After his stint at CAAP, Secretary Cusi returned to the private sector until he was
called to public duty again in 2016, this time, by President Rodrigo Duterte to head
the Department of Energy (DOE).
As DOE Secretary, his policies and programs reveal his staunch advocacy for the
promotion and protection of consumer welfare, as well as his long-term vision of
helping the country attain energy security, regardless of source, to ensure a
brighter future for the coming generations of Filipinos.

Security (CORDS) for Region IV-B, or MIMAROPA. Further, he is the assigned
