Steve manages a portfolio of research projects and relationships with industry, academia, and government in his role of Global Head of Research at Star Scientific. He is responsible for setting and aligning the RD&D Division’s efforts to support the Company’s direction.
He has a Masters in Astronomy from Swinburne University. Radio astronomy and rocketry remain his passions and is where he first developed his love of hydrogen. He drew upon his astrophysics knowledge when he joined Star Scientific in 2007 and began work on the Company’s Muon Catalysed Fusion project. While working on MCF, Steve and colleague Sam Kirk developed the phenomenon that is now the foundation of the Company’s HERO® technology.
Prior to his science career, Steve was working as a project manager for major corporates. Projects covered a wide range of fields with Steve having responsibility for budgets in excess of $14 million. He continues to manage key projects internally at Star.
