Manuel is the Manager Clean Energy Programs at the NSW Office of Energy and Climate Change and heads up the National GreenPower Accreditation Program, Australia’s largest voluntary renewable energy accreditation. In this role, Manuel has led the program to undertake reforms for a high-renewables grid and expansion to certify renewable gases. Since 2018, GreenPower purchases by Australian consumers have tripled, supporting renewable generation and lowering emissions.
Manuel has over 10 years’ experience in the energy sector in government programs, electricity retail, energy system modelling and community energy. He previously led the development of key parts of the NSW Hydrogen Strategy and a range of programs on innovation, energy consumer support and demand response. Manuel’s professional qualifications include an Erasmus Mundus Masters degree in Management and Engineering of Energy and Environment, and he holds a Bachelor of Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
